J.Luis Photography by Jose L. Feliciano Jr.

J.Luis studio is a place "where beauty and art emerge".  I want to provide a different angle to the way we look at life.  The crazy thing about that, it is all a matter of opinions.

The majority of the images you see now are pretty conservative to the images that I truly find interesting.  When viewing my surroundings, I keep the basics of art in mind--color, composition, light, balance, space, subject matter, and so much more.  I crop the image and try to capture a true slice of art that life has created.

So, is it beautiful or is it just something that challenges your opinion?  If it does both, I have achieved my mission.  Aesthetics is a true form of art.

Here are some questions to ask yourself:  Why do you like the "floral" or "landscapes" pictures?  Is it the color?  Is it the texture?  Is the light?  Or is it simply the image?

The images in our life have more than one meaning, besides, beauty.  Right?

Welcome to my vision!  Ever since I was fourteen years old, photography was one of my passions.  In Junior High, I started taking school photographs for the yearbook and slowly evolved by taking senior portraits.  At sixteen years old, I was taking family portraits and weddings.  I continued through High School and College being a photographer for the Yearbook Staff and other odd end jobs.

At an early age, I always treated my photography as a business.  Since time makes me wiser, photography is now a place for me "where beauty and art emerge".   So, at 41 years old, I believe that my photography has evolved to full circle.  I have labeled my work "aesthetic photography" only to challenge my vision and my viewer's eye with "what is art or simply beautiful?"

MY EDUCATION

I received my Bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University with an emphasis in Graphic Design.  After I graduates from ASU, I proceeded to take classes at Wichita State University with a focus in art education and fine art with an emphasis in Painting and Drawing.  My future plan is to get my Master's in Fine Art with an emphasis in Painting (Mixed Media with my photography).
